Total War: SHOGUN 2

My first impression of Total War: Shogun 2 was that it is a “pure” and well-balanced Total War experience.

Even though the game is old and shows its age, it consistently delivers a sense of freshness to the player. The game feels serious and convincingly portrays an era of true civil war and constant chaos.

The trade system feels inherently unreliable, where every clan and every province acts solely in the interest of its own survival.

The game is pure and simple — war is war. No one is exceptionally powerful, everyone is human, and every outcome feels grounded and believable.

This is why it makes complete sense that Total War: Shogun 2 is regarded as a legendary title.

been enjoying this game very much back then with mods
but when they updated the mod manager, so many mods are outdated, CTDs, and the most important "custom map" mods also didnt show in-game.

some suggest to use the old mod manager, but ive followed the instructions and nothing happened

The Apex of what Total War can be, an immersive campaign with amazing gritty battles where small decisions matter. An AI that feels aggressive and acts like it wants to win as much as you. Shogun 2 is proof that CA learned what made previous total wars good and what to avoid adding, something they have since lost apparently. The DLCs for this game are also amazing, especially Fall of the Samurai which is almost like playing a different game but in the best way. The fact that Rome II was made right after this game is insane to me as it is a direct downgrade in almost every way. Anyway why are you reading this? Go play Shogun 2!
