but happy
Your invited
you're good, don't worry about it.
>> Eve
just stop, jeez. i can already see reading between lines that you misunderstood everything i've said. this was going nowhere and wasn't coherent from the very beginning, i find your views to be absurd. discussion over.
"Eve believes this group doesn't need better moderation"
That was never stated, my suggestion to you is that if you desire better moderation, you visit petition.org . Create a list of demands relating to Steam's lack of anonymity and safety. Allowing group members to be protected entities who can willingly choose to trust or distrust other members - giving or withholding their identity - would be a step forward. And once your identity is granted to a person, the group is no longer responsible for what occurs between you and said person.
"Better safe than sorry"
I don't know this person in question. If they were behaving lewdly in group chat, comments, or the discord - that changes things.
However I too am finished with this conversation and will not respond to you further due to your aggressive behavior. "i suggest you seek professional help from a therapist. take care." isn't particularly conducive or productive to a worthwhile discussion
Screenshots and screen captures are not evidence, they give the ability for server administrators to fact check your statements. You are entitled to accuse and any reasonable person in power is entitled to fact check your accusations.
You are trying to fix something that is fundamentally flawed. I am not the issue. And you are not the issue either.
If you report someone for sexual harassment on FFXIV and give them Steam chat logs, they will not take action.
If you report someone for making false promises on eBay, an actual platform where money is involved. And those promises were made outside of eBay’s direct message system. They will not take action.
I’m not trying to attack you, I’m trying to prevent witch hunting from occurring.Your behavior is overly aggressive but my intent is not to upset you. It’s to prevent you and others like you from being wrongfully convicted in the future because I myself have been in that situation previously.
voice train, even if it seems very hard. voice matters A LOT.
i won't reply to each of your points to save time for us both.
you show incompetence in understanding how adequate moderation works, radical views about the inability to prove potential evidence that are just not true, and an attempt to get across a point that "it's so bad, so let's not even try to change it for the better".
your refusal to simply agree that this group needs better moderation enforced, no matter your views or opinions, is ridiculous.
your "better sorry than safe" approach to a potential creep acting against members of a very vulnerable transgender community is *very concerning* and finalises my decision to stop participating in this discourse with you.
i suggest you seek professional help from a therapist. take care.
any social transitioning wisdom?
.. what?
My statement is that Steam is not a safe platform for Transgender people period. It has nothing to do with this group. They can moderate until hell freezes over but the truth is this is a group, on a platform, owned by Valve. The moderators have limited control over what can be done.
This isn't an attack directed at you.
User reports and chatlogs can be falsified. Nothing stated can be truly fact-checked without access to Valve's servers (assuming you met a chaser here).
I can easily create ten alt-accounts and puppeteer false statements on each of them, stating "I had a bad experience with X, Y, or Z person too"
This is why most Discord servers encourage users to speak ONLY on the server itself, where messages can be vetted by moderators.
You can't enforce what you cannot verify as true. That is witch hunting.
