I was always the weirdo that liked Clear Sky, but with this GSC converted me into the CS-hater most are. Some of my favorites from the VERY short playthrough include:
- New and disgusting techno combat music that has ZERO variation
- Every weapon causing bleed every second hit, except that doesn't apply to your guns.
- 1/10 of enemies have bandages, aka you'll be bleeding out EVERY engagement.
- Heavy bleed exists, aka waste TWO bandages instead of one, amazing.
- Every enemy has ammo + ammo in the gun BUT that is now because gun accuracy doesn't mean anything. If it is below 75% you won't hit anything.
- The entire faction system is completely useless as ONLY friendly NPCs can't deal with even the most basic bandit with a shotgun on master.
- Speaking of garbage, garbage is an absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to take and the train station will turn into a safe zone while there are still enemies around you AND gets locked down so you can't enter.
- Artifacts have been turned into some rarity only the most dedicated STALKERs will find. Besides some story related ones, didn't find a single one. On master everything at the start and end will just kill you before you can grab em.
- Bartering is a total joke, for the price of 5 bandages I need to give 5 guns, all of their ammo and 5 grenades.
- Oh god the grenades, gotta keep that F5 ready.
- Your grenades only do the MINIMUM DMG while all enemies get the MAXIMUM DMG. Even zombies on the easier difficulty take THREE grenades to go down. It only gets worse the further in you get.
- Locations in the zone can swap faction in A SINGLE loading screen because the area is needed for a mission but outside of it it needs to belong to someone else.
- Most areas now feel like just a place to run through because there really are no missions or anything worth exploring as even the random markers have been turned into a garbage dump of a random stalker.
- Body markers are AGAIN broken for half of random enemies and most scripted enemies.
- 20 second mandatory breaks for stamina regen.
- Bar has been removed so now the only REAL traders exist at the edges of the map, good reason to at least fast travel (too bad you'll have no money)
- Outside of Forester's place there now a camp(?) that has a guide, the only place is the current camp, why.
- Bloodsuckers can't be damage while see-through BUT blood effects will show.
- There is no point to upgrade any weapon that isn't one of the end-game ones as their stats are so ass that the moment you get something better you can toss it.
- Mission scripting that is constantly throwing a coin whether it wants to break or not.
- Can't sprint with the SVD?
- Little blue crates are practically empty most of the time, the rest of the time you get 9x18 ammo and one bandage. The scripted fat loot ones have been replaced by in-world loot or just a chest.
- PDA constantly zooming in and out for no reason.
- Story is about as simple as it can be.

Doubt this one gets a replay in a few years when looking for something to play.

This is a fat MAYBE at best, the price being probably the biggest turn-off if there isn't a sale. The game is practically the same as it was before but with achievements, a bunch of removed small things and total lack of bug / feature fixes. Not quite sure if spelling mistakes count but there are a lot of them that I can't remember existing in the old version.

Some are reporting bad performance, but haven't ran into any of as it still is the same old Xray engine running at 1000fps regardless of location. Not sure if the loot has been made easier because it feels like there is way too much ammo and healing items around every corner. The inventory grid is still borked as items can go past the scroll wheel and getting stuck.

Imagine adding root level anti-cheat 13 post-release and expecting it to go down well, just 2K things.

If it worked with War Thunder, it can work here as well. Lootboxes, p2w and disgusting developer behaviour are not "off-topic" and never will.

Seems a bit unbalanced on the weapon front, feels like the it leans more on the "if we keep everything just a bit under-damaged it will feel difficult", which I personally don't like. But the areas leading to the bosses are not that hard so it doesn't really feel like a total waste of time.

The entire game is about a distant relative of some nobles being forced to deal with their ♥♥♥♥ and killing some random monsters in-between all of it. So a normal thanksgiving adventure.

This should be a thumb sideways, if i could put it that way.

The price is too high for what the game is, since there is only about 3 hours max of "game", and that 3 hours is mostly left clicking on the dialogue box.

The only options that are given end up just being a choice between a different rail-line, not really having an impact on the story, because all the lines are just a different story.

The art style is good and consistent, the writing is clear but there is way too much text and eventually it just feels like lore dumping.

For 18€ its not a bad game and there's a lot of content, sometimes maybe a bit too much.

The "newer" parts of the game, Xen and everything after it, are for sure the worst part of the whole game considering the fact that those have been in development since at least Q4 of 2015 and was released Q4 of 2019. The whole of gonarch lair is overdone and too long with not enough unique scenes to differentiate them.

Interloper and Nihilanth were basically DOOM and they were quite monotonous.

Besides the end mess, its worth the money and sticks to the source material (at least mostly), while also updating visuals and gameplay with the modern engine.
