A Plague Tale: Requiem is the kind of game that genuinely breaks your heart. I won’t spoil anything, but this is easily one of the best storytelling experiences I’ve ever had. Compared to Innocence, everything feels upgraded — the pacing, the scale, the atmosphere, and how the whole journey comes together.

Visually, it’s stunning. I haven’t seen a third-person game look and feel this “premium” since The Last of Us Part II. The music is tasteful and perfectly placed, and the world stays immersive without the modern “agendas” that pull you out of the experience.

The opening can feel like it takes its time, but it’s purposeful. As the story unfolds, it all connects beautifully and lands with real weight. I finished it in almost 16 hours, and I’m glad I did.

If you haven’t played A Plague Tale: Innocence, I strongly recommend at least watching a short recap video first. Requiem hits much harder when you already know the characters and what they’ve been through.

- The rat waves are viscerally scary and cool at the same time.
- So far the most beautiful game I've played, with HDR it looks fantastic.
- Gives a great sense of adventure.
- Pacing is well done - mixes up action, stealth, admiring the scenery and puzzle solving.
- Your arsenal allows you to approach situations in three styles: agro, stealth or inbetween, my recommendation is to try to mix and match for maximum enjoyment. That's how I managed to not max out any of the three styles haha, but there is NG+ for that purpose, so it's fine.

- The dialog and characters ran through the "modern audience" treatment compared to original, fortunately it's not that prevalent, but when it happens it feels so forced and out of place, that it breaks the immersion in those moments.
- Slightly too long (around 18 hours), I think "Innocence" had perfect timing at around 12 hours.
- Ending was supposed to be impactful, but it didn't hit the mark for me. Post-credit scene is interesting though, so stay tuned after the epilogue.

Love the original Plague Tale: Innocence and like this one, but less.
