It really is that good. The gameplay, weapons, build variety, and the number of stuns you can pull off with different weapons and skills are amazing. Elden Ring and Lies of P don’t come close to the way combat feels in Nioh. It’s incredibly satisfying to see your improvement over the course of the game.

Nioh 2 is unhinged, sets you up for unfair situations and then mocks you for even trying to come back, and still it is better than the original Nioh.

It is faster paced, runs smoother capping at 120 fps and looks somewhat better while using the same resources as Nioh 1.

It even brings a character customization system where you can add a ton of detail to your character only for the armor to cover every single tattoo and scar that you spent 30 minutes tailoring.

There's a few mechanics missing like jumping and more intuitive button mappings but Nioh 3 solved all that. Anyway usually you can get the complete edition for the cost of a Maccas combo during sale so why not give it a try.
