Solid fishing/adventure game that manages to feel cozy while using a lovecraftian theme and still mantains the eerie atmosphere and the night time reflects that perfectly. The art style is pretty unique too both the 3D and the character portraits fit the theme so well.

The game is pretty clear on where to go for the main quest so it's easy to pick up even if at first it seems overwhelming to some, it's really easy to make small progress and keep advancing while just doing small steps, and even if you struggle at night there is a passive mode for those that just want to chill all the way.

Worth grabbing both dlcs too, i enjoyed both pretty much, the Iron Rig dlc makes you revisit all the areas from the main game adding the oil spills and enhanced equipment needed to fish the new species there, and you have to dredge for shipment crates to improve both the equipment and the oil rig. The Pale Reach is shorter than the Iron Rig, but the atmosphere and unique area are pretty nice, even if its the size of one of the main game areas, the main gimmick is using an Ice Breaker addon for your ship and feeding a monster so it breaks ice barriers, while also adding new fishing equipment to fish in the ice area.

Game runs even on potatoes, tested it on the Deck too and it ran at 60 easily, ended up playing mostly on Desktop though, get it if you enjoy cozy/fishing games and don't mind a bit of an eerie atmosphere, you'll be pleaseantly surprised.

This game is less than the sum of its parts. The messed up thing is that there are some *really* good parts.

The combination of fishing minigame and inventory tetris means getting, moving, and selling fish is fun! But, the rot mechanic makes me want to do short, quick trips where I don't need to max out my inventory.

The graphics are great, the sky is real pretty and the waves look nice. However, you get the best information at a isometric 45 degree angle, and tbh I think the game is at it's worse at that angle.

I really like some of the fish writing. It makes it sound like your guy hates all fish sometimes, which really adds a good tone. However, most NPCs felt very flat and wayyy too friendly. It makes the sea feel smaller and kinder

The UI? Crisp, clean. Every item and fish looks good, and the fish have a little wiggle animation when you pick them up. If the NPC dialog is the only wholesale bad thing in this game, the inventory is the only wholesale good

I wanted spooky fisherman game, and got cozy fisherman game with a spooky coat of paint. If you want to enjoy the horror of being alone in the open sea as your mind fails you and your fish look at you funny, this ain't great. If you want to enjoy exploring an ocean with a bit of edge, and collecting cool fish, I say go with it. I just feel kinda eh on my experience. It just wasn't great for me

A very nice and enjoyable fishing experience. Gradually upgrading the boat and progressing the story really kept me hooked ;)
