Only leaving the negative review because of the launcher i hate using RELEASE THESE OLDER GAMES ON GOG FOR CHRIST SAKE I HATE USING UBISOFT LAUNCHER !

It's been said a million times before but I'll say it again. Far Cry 3 is one of if not the closest game we have to a perfect singleplayer First Person Shooter. Unfortunately, to play this game on PC, you're going to need to use the dreaded Ubisoft Launcher. I feel like every time I play an Ubisoft game I have to send 5 support tickets because APPARENTLY Ubisoft Launcher cannot verify that I own the game. Which I purchased through steam.

MOST other games that launch via a launcher create an account automatically for your steam, allow you to link your steam account to them, or set up a temp account that you can use until (or if) you decide to set up an actual account. Not this one. You are required to sign in to it, which is already annoying enough, but the worst part is that it's the UBISOFT LAUNCHER. Everything about it is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Beyond that, the PC Version of Far Cry 3 (at least while using windows 10 and 11) suffers from many crashes, framerate drops, and memory leaks. There are fixes through this via a third party, but it's ridiculous that a product by one of the largest game studios STILL has this problem, even though it was recently updated for achievement support. Alongside this, Far Cry 3 multiplayer services have been completely removed, so it's no longer possible to access the Co-Op missions or the PVP Multiplayer. I can maybe understand servers being shut down for the MP, but at least allow Co-Op to still exist through Peer-to-Peer servers.

Despite all this, if you're willing to troubleshoot the game and you're only interested in the amazing singleplayer campaign, Far Cry 3 is an absolutely stellar experience. The gameplay still holds up today, the story is interesting, Jason is an interesting and tragic protagonist, and Vaas is one of the most memorable villains in ANY video game. The animal system in this game is surprisingly still great, with each animal feels different and fun to encounter. The skill tree system is amazing, as you can physically see your Tatau grow with each new skill obtained. Far Cry 3, despite it's age, is damn near perfect. It may not be as gritty as Far Cry 2, but its story, villain, and gameplay are all there.

I wouldn't recommend Far Cry 3 (PC) if you don't want to troubleshoot or bear with the crashes and framerate issues. however, I would highly recommend Far Cry 3 if you are willing to do so.
