Why do game characters look like AI?

Compared to the previous installment, Cardiel and Hope look completely unremarkable，I bet it was because the production team was all fired for slacking off, otherwise they wouldn't have had no Chinese translation for New York Shadow so far.

So I'm kind of suspicious when I see this type of art so I did some research whether it's AI or not. I saw a post on reddit where someone screenshots of blatant AI flaws. Can anyone confirm that this game DOES NOT use AI generated images?

Soundtrack might be the best out of the 3 made so far. Wish they had it available.

It is cool how they tied it in with the other games.

Only option available is reading edgy teenager love story.
Why change everything from the first opus when it was obviously good ?
