Burning Saviours

(Doom Metal/Hard Rock)

Burning Saviours is a swedish quintet that plays some doom metal/hard rock. Their early work leans more towards the hard rock sound and features some really neat flute play, while their more recent releases are overall heavier, more doomy, and sadly, drop the flute altogether, but both take inspiration from early Pentagram's sound (the band's own name comes from Pentagram's song in fact). The new albums are fine for what they are but I'd be lying if I said I didn't find their oldest material superior, partially because I find it more soulful and inspired, but partially because I just really liked the flute, it sounded pretty neat. But both might be worth a listen if you enjoy some old Pentagram, or simply if you like the doom/hard rock combo, so either way, consider giving Burning Saviours a try.

Blood Oath

Blood Oath is an english group that plays some thrashy death metal. Can't quite say there's anything particularly unique about them, but they play a pretty good bland of thrash and death (leaning more towards death mostly), and they sure play it well: decent, often kinda groovy riffs, fast paced bangers with the occasional slow and more melodic tracks, aggressive and pounding drumming, good growls for vocals, all the usual suspects. It's definitely enough to justify giving their short discography a listen if you're a fan of the genre, couple songs will get you headbanging if nothing else, on top of the better tracks that stand out more. So if you dig some thrash/death metal, give Blood Oath a listen.

The band was mainly active within the 90s and has been around throughout until around the mid 00s when the band called it quits. Today the band is lead by founder Jeff Wambolt who has been doing many asorted other projects such as Nullborn, Hardware Scarecrow and Silvicultura. The band had a small cult following as well thanks to the game Postal 2 where one of their songs was used. Look out for new material as the band is back and active with a new album on the horizon.
