Improving the Workshop One Map at a Time

Welcome to CQC

Chamber Quality Control is a group dedicated to improving the quality of the levels that are available on the Portal 2 workshop. CQC works to educate the community about good and bad design choices so that a quality filter may be applied to the levels that receive attention. We wish to spur community interaction and encourage thoughtful design.

What can you do to help?
  • Learn to recognize good and bad level design choices
  • Find, share, and up-vote maps that showcase good design choices
  • Provide constructive criticism for levels with recognizable design flaws
  • Talk to other members in the community about level design

I need to play Portal 2 tests more, recently got a ton of games for my custom-built gaming PC so haven't been playing much

So how about a contest? It's been a while. Maybe something to keep the maps easier to make (and play) to get a bit more participation.

Understood. It's been a real evolutionary process for me in this realm. The feedback is what motivates most of us me thinks. I tried my own group if have not seen and it is doing the same thing as p2lc. There are only a few people left participating. Speaking for myself, the addictive nature of this game creates a roller-coaster of fun to burn outs. I have decided to scale back my maps to smaller and simpler challenges. Otherwise i may find myself spending 50 hours a week on difficult maps that many don't appreciate.
