Alone in the Dark Trilogy GIVEAWAY as a celebration of what we achieved together

Hey everyone, GOG Team here!

We can finally share something we’ve been working on for some time now: a look back at what we managed to achieve together last year when it comes to video game preservation, and most importantly, a big thank YOU.

A lot of what happened was driven directly by community actions: your votes and stories on the GOG Dreamlist, your support through GOG Patrons, and simply choosing DRM-free games on GOG. This event is our way of showing what that collective effort turned into in practice.

To mark the occasion, we’ve prepared a few things:

A short recap of the most important things we worked on around preservation and how your contributions enable it all – watch it HERE.

A giveaway of Alone in the Dark: The Trilogy (1+2+3)[gog.com], as a celebration of what we achieved together. You can claim it until February 5th, 2 PM UTC.

Introducing GOG Patrons – an optional way to support game preservation

Hello everyone,

For over 17 years, GOG has been restoring classic PC games, fixing compatibility issues, maintaining DRM-free builds, and making sure great titles stay playable long after they leave store shelves. As time goes on, this kind of preservation work becomes more challenging – rights disappear, source files get lost, and decades-old games need more care to run on modern systems.

Today, we’re officially introducing GOG Patrons[www.gog.com]: a completely optional way for anyone who wants to support our preservation efforts on a monthly basis.

What it is, and what it isn’t:

– Not a game subscription.

– No changes to how GOG works.

– Everything you have stays yours, DRM-free, just as before.

GOG Patrons[www.gog.com] exists only for those who want to help us restore, maintain, and support more classic PC games through the GOG Preservation Program. If you don’t join, your GOG experience remains exactly the same.

We’ve been testing this program quietly with early supporters, and their positive feedback makes us confident that this is a good step forward.

What Patrons receive as a thank-you for their active support:

– Access to Patron-only Discord server with exclusive video content.

– Their nickname credited on the GOG Preservation Program game pages.

– A special badge for their GOG profile.
