Welcome to the Hyperion Conference!

So since I've come to the realisation that I've never really used this to actually make announcements or updates, it would be probably a good start to update here with small updates every now and again to get the more game-y community of Hyperion up-to-date (because I actually know that some of you get distracted by your games -- don't worry, I'm guilty, too).

In any case, R5 results should be up within the week, and then R6 will be under way. We're looking forward to getting things hopefully wrapped up with these last couple rounds. While we've endured and perservered, it's been a long and great challenge for us (and hopefully for those that have competed).

We're currently in the process of planning, developing, and implementing things for Hyperion Y2 that will hopefully make things a lot less stressful for everyone involved, and as far as we know, we'd be one of the first Pokémon OCTs to actually implement this new system we agreed upon in early planning stages.

However, here are some things to look forward to in Y2 (yeah, look at that, Steam community, you get sneak peek information before it gets posted to the group -- if you're even reading this |D):

-A new region by the name of Sommerset! Since a lot of things are still in development, things will most likely be 'under construction' while Hyperion Y2 is taking place.

-Interactive story alongside competition. There will be different storylines available to people that participate in story events. The reason that they would be different storylines is because a lot of choices and decisions that people have their characters make will impact their relations with important NPCs that the staff are going to place into the region, and even within the competition.

-Story and competition will not be combined. We have a story, and we have a competition, however, the story will take place more within the area in which we are setting up rather than the competition walls. We will not say you cannot implement story elements into your round entries -- just that competition will be competition-focused, and story will be story-focused.

-No elimination. This is to prevent worry among competitors, and headache among both Hosts and Judges. With no elimination rounds, we can actually go as planned, and competitors can jump in and out of rounds when they see fit, seeing as all competitors do have lives, and sometimes life sucks, and gets in the way of competiton. Because of which, extensions are no longer valid.

-Atlas Tower. A tower for any trainer (so long as you're part of the group with an app) that want to challenge themselves. It is a mono-type tower -- meaning that the Trainers inside are mono, and that those challenging have to be mono. Atlas Tower not confirmed for Y2, though (I was just told to post it as well).
