Formed in 1685 as The Queen's Regiment of Horse. Renamed The King's Own Regiment of Horse in 1714 in honour of George I. The regiment was bestowed the title 1st King's Dragoon Guards in 1751. They never really did much until The Great War where having royal connections (The Habsburg's, Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria was Colonel of the regiment until the outbreak of the war) they fought in Third Afghan War (1919) and distinguished themselves there and in later wars.

(So obviously we are here to re-write history and make The 1st King's Dragoon Guards a name to be feared across the continent!...Hopefully)
