Escape from Tarkov is often praised for being “hardcore,” but in reality that difficulty frequently crosses the line into frustration, poor design choices, and wasted time. Between constant bugs, desync issues, punishing mechanics that feel unfair rather than challenging, and a steep learning curve that rewards suffering more than skill, the game can feel more exhausting than fun. Instead of providing a satisfying sense of progression, Tarkov often traps players in repetitive grind loops where progress can be erased in seconds by factors completely outside their control. Ironically, for a game built entirely around the idea of escape, the only reliable way to truly escape Tarkov’s stress, anger, and time drain is to uninstall it and move on to something that actually respects the player’s time and enjoyment.
